Even though I normally vote Republican, I voted for Mark Warner both for Governor and the Senate, and I voted for Tim Kaine. Going back 15 years, I voted for Chuck Robb when he ran against Oliver North. In Warner’s case, he simply is good for the state and the nation. Mr. Kaine represented the better vote for me. I voted more against Mr. North than I did vote for Mr. Robb because as a retired military officer, I was appalled at Mr. North’s apparent disregard for his oath of office when he was in the NSC.
Mr. McAuliffe represents all that is wrong with politics today. The Washington Post article on May 3 sets the stage well. I cannot believe the Democratic party in Virginia will vote for him on June 9th. I would hope, rather, that the party present a candidate similar to Mr. Warner or Mr. Kaine.
