About the lost and found files at Virginia Tech. When will institutions realize that their effort to guard their reputation through partial disclosure, if that is indeed what this was, will be undermined when the full facts come to light, as they nearly always do? People may well condone lapses which are voluntarily confessed, but are legitimately irate about a cover-up. Tell the truth and do so quickly.
