The prospect of Ken Cuccinelli’s election on Tuesday.
The reality that Cuccinelli could win and, if the polls are correct, win big has just begin to set in.
And it is not sitting well with Democrats and their supporters.
Think about it.
The state that supported Obama with 52% could turn around twelve months later and elect Cuccinelli with an equal or greater percentage.
For Democrats, the prospect represents just how disastrous this election has become.
How in the world could this happen?
The Shannon campaign was perfectly positioned- no primary challenger and a ton of cash.
And McDonnell-Bolling seemed none too enthuisastic about the guy. Early on, I asked some Republicans why was I hearing so much about the McDonnell-Bolling team and nothing about the junior partner.
But Cuccinelli’s stuck to his principles (no one’s accusing him of an election year makeover) and he’s still cruising in the polls.
So with 4 days left the Democrats and their supporters are pulling out all the stops and making all the charges.
Far-out, fringe candidate, radical, bigot, an embarassment in the making, you name it…
Hoping that what the Democratic bloggers are calling Triage might possibly have an impact and overcome the miserable effort to date.
Perhaps, but it looks like an awfully steep hill to climb in a week-end.
Imagine if a year ago
You’d gone to Intrade, the Irish political betting site, and placed a wager that Cuccinelli would be up by double digits the weekend prior to the vote.
What’d you think the odds would have been?
You’d have quit work today and started your permanent vacation.

Democrats gave been the fighters for the people. Let’s not forget Social Security, G.I, benefits for education, Medicare for retirees and Medicaid for those in need. There are benefits Dems have won for us.. Let’s we the people stickc together & vote Big D all the way.
