It’s not surprising that Attorney General Bill Mims would be pursued by Hunton and Williams and that he would accept the offer.
Probably better hours than government work. A chief-of- staff, for example, is 24-7 for 4 years.
Far more money. Say between about $150,000 and ???
And he’ll no doubt be a confidant of the incoming Governor. Heck, he’s just down the block.
But still
A lot of folks were hoping that he’d join the McDonnell administration and help it run as smoothly as the AG’s office did.
If you’ve been around for a while, you’re aware that no single person is indispensable.
But Mims is a very smart guy, a wonderful public servant, and the kind of individual who has everyone’s respect.
In fact, some of the insiders can’t stop speculating
Maybe H&W is just a temporary parking lot.
And there’s an important judgeship in his future?
