Puts all that talk about the GOP enticing a turncoat and controlling it all to rest.
But it’s also a reminder.
That Bob McDonnell won because he focused on the economic challenges facing the state.
And he attracted independent voters.
It’s easy to overinterpret trends, victories and mandates.
In 2009, the Democrats consistently ignored the messages sent by the NOVA special elections.
In 2010,
The Republicans would be wise not to repeat the mistake.
