  1. Faculty salaries at Virginia’s public colleges and universities: clearly salaries have to be attractive but tuition, which contributes 65% at U Va, has to be watched as well.
    My 21 years of experience as an academic is that good faculty serve fresh fare every time they meet a class and others warmed-up left-overs; the latter are sometimes more popular than the former.
