Human civilizations send their young men to war, but ant colonies send their old women.

Apparently they’re all business, don’t get hung up in debate, philosophy, or theatrics, shun preening and bombast, are task oriented, smarter, tougher, meaner, and take no prisoners.

Hmmm.

Seems like old women would maker superior candidates for the legislature.

  1. The item in the New York Times would seem to be based on Edward O. Wilson’s new novel. A sociobiologist, he is the world’s greatest expert on ants.
